Bruce Westerman 4 Term US Representative at April Meeting!


Four term U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman will be the main speaker April 8 during the monthly meeting of the Republican Party of Garland County. Westerman will speak at the meeting which will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, Family Center, 3804 Central Ave., Hot Springs. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. The RPGC will not meet April 1.


Also speaking that night will be Mindy McAlindon, a candidate for the Republican Party of Arkansas National Committeewoman.


Westerman, a Republican, has represented the 4th Congressional District since his election in 2014, succeeding U.S. Senator Tom Cotton. He was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2010, where he served as the House Majority Leader. Westerman, a lifelong resident of Garland County, is known to support more responsive government, lower taxes, healthcare reform and advocating for conservative values Westerman was valedictorian of Fountain Lake High School, and a 1990 graduate from the University Arkansas in Fayetteville where he played football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the U of A and a master’s degree in forestry from Yale University, in New Haven Connecticut.


He is married to Sharon Kay French Westerman and they have four children. McAlindon of Centerton Arkansas has served on the RPA Executive Board and Finance Chair and Deputy Treasurer. She is also secretary for the Benton County Republican Committee. She has been involved with Republican women’s ground and has worked on political campaigns and organized Reagan Day dinners.
